When I found out that I’d been shortlisted for **not one, but TWO photographs** in the British Photography Awards this year I was SO excited… but then I was also left in a bit of a dilemma because I absolutely adore both of these photographs, and they’re both from personal projects that mean an awful lot to me.

The first is of my friend’s dog, **Zep**, taken during a camping trip while he modelled for my Scarf Project. If you’ve been here for any amount of time at all, you’ll probably have gathered just how much this project means to me.

The second is deeply personal because it’s my own tiny Chihuahua, **Lily**, photographed in the cemetery where we live on a very special and rather unusual day… the day of the eclipse.

I know I know. Some people found the eclipse a little underwhelming.  But I was absolutely ecstatic about the weird, beautiful quality of the light, and I was SO glad I’d made the effort to turn the whole event into a little dog photography adventure.

So now I’m handing the decision over to you…

I genuinely would be crying happy tears if either of these portraits won.

**Zep**, because that photograph is part of such a beautiful memory with my friends, and because it would be amazing to add another accolade to my already award-winning Scarf Project.

Or **Lily**, because she’s my tiniest little girl, and this was such a unique moment that we certainly aren’t going to experience every day.
