Michael – the dog whisperer – encourages the dogs to pose during shoots and controls any OCF. Michael does the occasional edit but spends most of his time working on systems, design and marketing.

What our participants are saying

Questions & answers

If you are driving, the Tickled Trout is perfectly on route just off the M6. Situated near Brockholes Nature Reserve – it’s about a 20 min drive up the road from our studio. It backs onto the the River Ribble and has lovely views over the countryside.

If you want something more central to town, Winckley Square is a lovely little area just off the main high street and round the corner from the train station. Check out The Winckley Square Hotel. This one is about a 10 minute drive and a 30 minute walk from our studio.

As photographers based in the North West of England, we are well used to dealing with all kinds of weather conditions. We intend to share with you exactly how we handle various weather conditions so you can feel confident shooting whatever the forecast predicts, including the weather we are given on the day. Of course we have no control over what the weather decides to do, so if it misbehaves to a point that is impractical, we may shift our schedule for the day around to accommodate.

The lighting section of this workshop is solely based around working with natural light and shaping it to get the best results possible, regardless of the weather and your environment but some of these skills will be transferable to OFC.

Of course, just drop us a line and we can arrange for you to pay in instalments. The Workshop balance must be paid at least one week before the workshop is due to start.

Absolutely! Workshop gift vouchers can be made available on request.

The afternoon practical section will take place at Avenham Park, one of the finest examples of traditional Victorian parkland in the North West. The famous Japanese rock garden is nestled in the side of the park’s natural amphitheatre, which looks down on the River Ribble, running alongside the entire park.  Only a stones throw from the CatsDog studio, this park is ideal for exploring lots of different ways to make use of different environments when photographing our canine friends.

There is a chance they will but at this stage we just don’t know for sure. To avoid missing out, the best bet is to book now.

Each place on the workshop is £495. We can’t wait to go on an adventure with you and take your dog photography to the next level!

If you are filling this application in as a gift on behalf of someone else, please confirm that they know how to use manual settings on their camera and that they have a good understanding of how their camera works.
